Community Guidelines – Hyderabad Climbers
At Hyderabad Climbers, we’re more than just a group of people scaling rocks—we’re a community that thrives on respect, safety, and shared passion for climbing and the outdoors. Whether you’re a first-time visitor or a seasoned climber, these guidelines help us create a safe, welcoming, and sustainable environment for everyone.
🌟 1. Climb Respectfully
✅ Be mindful of other climbers. Wait your turn on routes and avoid stepping on crash pads unless invited.
✅ Offer encouragement and support, especially to beginners. Everyone started somewhere!
✅ Share beta (climbing tips) kindly and only when asked.
🛡️ 2. Safety First
✅ Always check your gear and knots before climbing.
✅ Use a helmet outdoors to protect against falling rocks or gear.
✅ Spot fellow boulderers properly and place crash pads carefully.
✅ If you’re unsure about a technique, ask an experienced climber or instructor for help.
🌱 3. Respect the Rocks and Nature
✅ Follow Leave No Trace principles:
✅ Don’t litter or leave chalk marks on rocks.
✅ Stick to established trails to protect local flora.
✅ Avoid climbing on wet rock to prevent damage.
✅ Be mindful of wildlife and keep noise levels low.
🫂 4. Build an Inclusive Community
✅ Welcome climbers of all ages, backgrounds, and skill levels.
✅ Be patient with new climbers and celebrate their progress.
✅ Speak respectfully and avoid judgmental or exclusive behavior.
🤝 5. Give Back
✅ Join clean-up drives and rock preservation efforts organized by Hyderabad Climbers.
✅ Educate yourself and others about the importance of conserving Hyderabad’s granite heritage.
✅ Volunteer during beginner workshops and community events.
